
The South Carolina Project is an alliance of 10 institutions of higher education in collaboration with South Carolina EPSCoR/IDeA. The alliance is engaging in cutting-edge research in the field of tissue biofabrication, which could eventually lead to the production of human organs.
Mission: The South Carolina Project will build the scientific, technological, and educational capacity for the biofabrication of human organs by advancing intellectual and physical infrastructure.
Vision: Within the next decade, the South Carolina Project will engineer a branched vascular supply system.

2011 SCTR Fall Scientific Retreat - Biomedical Imaging

Calling all imaging researchers! Whether you are involved with MRI, CT, PET, molecular imaging, image processing, two-photon imaging, or another aspect of imaging research, we want YOU to participate in the SCTR Biomedical Imaging Retreat. Objective: To stimulate networking and new multi-disciplinary research collaborations among biomedical imaging researchers, bioengineers, basic scientists, clinicians, nurses, other health professional researchers, and the community that would lead to productive pre-clinical, clinical or translational research. What: A keynote address, a day filled with brief, informative talks by local researchers, and plenty of time to network and develop research collaborations. There will also be an overview of the SCTR Pilot Project Program and retreat pilot project initiatives for possible funding. Cost: Free! The new series of videos diSCovering Science has been posted on The SC Project's YouTube channel. These videos were produced in conjunction with South Carolina Educational Television, and are designed for K-12 students and teachers.
